Counselling in Islington and Watford

During life's journey many of us can experience emotional difficulties. Sometimes it can be difficult to share our feelings with friends and relatives. Talking to a trained counsellor offers you a safe, confidential place to talk and be listened to without judgement, where you can explore your feelings and find sense and understanding from what may have felt incomprehensible.  From that understanding a new and more satisfying life can become possible.

Both my practices offer a warm, safe and secure space for counselling.  In islington I'm located on Upper Street opposite Angel Tube station with numerous bus routes stopping outside.  In Watford I'm in West Watford with on-site parking.

I offer both short and long term counselling depending on your individual needs.

WHY COUNSELLING
Sometimes we can struggle with feelings which seem out of proportion to what triggered them, and sometimes we just don’t know why we feel the way we do. Often these feelings can arise from our past experiences, but in ways in which we may be unaware. Counselling, by creating a therapeutic, non-judgmental relationship, can help you find greater awareness and understanding of the origin of your feelings.  The past doesn't have to be repeated, a new and different, more satisfying way of living becomes possible.  How that new life is will be your choice, a life that suits you and feels more fulfilling.

I see clients who may experience

Anxiety
Stress
Depression
Emotional Difficulties
Low self-esteem
Sexual problems
Effects of childhood sexual abuse
Relationship difficulties

GETTING STARTED
Our first session will give you the opportunity to talk about what has prompted you to seek counselling and to decide if counselling is for you. If you feel you would like to continue with regular counselling sessions we would continue to meet weekly. Sessions are at the same time each week and each session lasts for 50 minutes. Confidentiality is key to effective counselling and nothing is disclosed to any third parties, except in rare and exceptional circumstances.

I see clients in Watford and Islington, both locations provide a secure and comfortable environment for counselling. Sessions are on a sliding scale usually between £50 and £80 though I can be more flexible with some time slots, especially during the daytime.
